Muodostelma mukaan ISU:n GP-finaaliin

Suomi mukana GP-finaalissa – muodostelmaluistelussa

ISU:n hallitus on päättänyt ottaa muodostelmaluistelu mukaan ISU:n GP-finaaliin, joka käydään Barcelonassa 10.-13.12.2015. Tämä on ensimmäinen kerta, kun laji on mukana GP-finaalissa yhdessä yksinluistelun, jäätanssin ja pariluistelun kanssa.

Viisi korkeimman rankingin omaavaa maata on mukana kilpailussa, jossa muodostelmaluistelun seniorit kilpailevat vain vapaaohjelmassa. Luonnollisesti myös Suomi on mukana finaalissa. Valitut maat ovat:

Kanada, Suomi, Venäjä, Ruotsi, Yhdysvallat

(varalla Saksa, Japani and Italia)

The ISU Council agreed to include a Synchronized Skating Free Skating competition to the program of the ISU Junior and Senior Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2015/16. It is the first time that Synchronized Skating will be included in an ISU Single & Pair Skating and Ice Dance competition. This decision makes the ISU Grand Prix Final a real showcase of the top world skaters and teams in the Branch of Figure Skating which includes Men, Ladies, Pair Skating, Ice Dance and Synchronized Skating, the team sport of the ISU.

The following top five ranked ISU Members are qualified for participation, and three ISU Members are substitutes, in accordance with the criteria of the placement of the ISU Members at the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2015: Canada, Finland, Russia, Sweden, USA, the substitutes are Germany, Japan and Italy. Each Synchronized Skating team consists of 16 skaters and 2 substitutes. The Synchronized Skating competition at the ISU Grand Prix Final will consist of the Free Skating which will take place on Saturday December 12, 2015. The teams will not perform a Short Program.

A total prize money of US$ 17,500 is awarded to winners and placed teams as follows:
1st place:         US$ 5,000
2nd place:       US$ 4,250
3rd place:        US$ 3,500
4th place:        US$ 2,750
5th place:        US$ 2,000

The final entry deadline for the teams is November 2, 2015 and the entries will be published shortly thereafter. Thursday, Dec 10: Junior Short Dance, Junior Ladies, Junior Pairs, Junior Men, Paris & Men Short Program
Friday, Dec 11: Junior Free Dance, Junior Men Free Skating, Short Dance, Pairs Free Skating, Ladies Short Program
Saturday Dec 12: Junior Ladies, Junior Pairs & Synchronized Skating Free Skating, Free Dance, Ladies & Men Free Skating
Sunday, Dec 13: Exhibition Gala
