Visa requirements

Citizen from the following member federations require a visa to enter Finland: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan. Further questions concerning travel documents accepted by Finland shall be addressed to the Finnish Embassy or Consulate in your country or Visa Unit of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs (e-mail: visas.passports@formin.fi)

Foreign nationals who need an entry visa are requested to apply it at the nearest Finnish mission. In countries where Finland does not have a mission, another Schengen country can represent Finland in visa matters.

How to get to Helsinki

By Air

Helsinki-Vantaa international airport is one of the best in Europe, well known for the high quality and reliability of its modern services.

Helsinki-Vantaa Airport is situated 19 km and half an hour drive from the centre of Helsinki. There are good bus connections from the airport to Helsinki city centre. You can also take the Finnair City Bus from downtown Helsinki to the airport. Finnair City Bus stops at the official hotel Scandic Continental.

The taxi journey from the airport to the centre of Helsinki takes half an hour and costs about 30 €. The journey to the Hartwall Areena is even shorter.

By Train

There are three daily trains from Russia to Helsinki. The Russian train Repin and the Finnish train Sibelius from St. Petersburg and the Russian train Tolstoi from Moscow.

By Ferry

Helsinki is easy to reach by sea from Sweden, Estonia and Germany throughout the year.
