The main shopping streets in Helsinki are Aleksanterinkatu, both sides of the Esplanade, and Mannerheimintie. Stockmann department store offers a wide selection of products and services. Smaller clothing boutiques can be found especially on Fredrikinkatu and Korkeavuorenkatu, while there are many interior decorating shops in the Punavuori and Kamppi districts. World famous Finnish design can be found at a number of design boutiques. For a real Finnish design shopping expedition, head for Design Forum on Erottaja and along the Esplanade.
On cold days, shopping is easy and carefree in one of the big shopping centres, including Forum and the brand new Kamppi with over 100 boutiques and restaurants in the city centre. Kämp Galleria between the north side of the Esplanade and Aleksanterinkatu is a quality shopping centre full of boutiques selling the latest trends and brand items. Itäkeskus shopping centre in Eastern Helsinki you can reach by metro from the Central Railway Station. Helsinki’s two market halls and open-air market places provide a wide variety of culinary delights and souvenirs. Unique and handmade goods can be found in the Kiseleff House situated in the historic centre of Helsinki beside Senate Square opposite Helsinki Cathedral.
